Reg: Security Precautions for handling of 12 Bore DBBL Guns

 1.     Of late, it has been observed that cases of accidental gun fire have increased. There have been incidents where the customers have been injured.

2.     It is therefore essential that adequate security precautions be taken in handling of guns. Following aspects are being reiterated:

A.               The guard must check the gun before loading for duty in a blind corner i.e. strong room/daftari room.

B.                The guard must check the hooks and its sling so that it might not open and fall.

C.               Gun should be chained to the belt to prevent snatching by miscreants.

D.               While on duty with the gun, the guard will not be used for any other duties such as shifting of ledgers and filing of forms for customers.

E.                A guard should be checked for his alertness on duty. In case, he is found careless and not holding the gun properly strict action must be taken against him.

F.                Even while handling the gun to another guard after completion of duty adequate precautions must be taken so that there is no accident.

G.               While unloading the gun the same precautions are to be taken as applicable for loading of the gun.

H.               Every guard must attend the firing practice once every year under the supervision of Local Police Authorities. The certificate of fitness of the gun be signed by the armourer and discrepancies if any, be rectified immediately.

 3.     Above guidelines must be followed strictly and any deviation should be viewed very seriously.
